Soft Portraits, Almost, (2026)
Print on fabric, metal, magnet, ribbon and toy stuffing
125 x 190 x 9cm and 100 x 80cm (adjustable)
Interactive installation

The work consists of a soft fabric canvas filled with toy stuffing, accompanied by thirty small plush objects. Each plush is made from printed fabric and toy stuffing, representing the response of a simple interview question: "What object or thing do you identify yourself as?" in Bienno, Italy during artist regidency in 2026.

Some chose a spiritual animal, while others selected tools connected to their job, objects they had kept since childhood, or symbols that represented who they became during difficult periods of their lives.

Visitors are invited to interact with the installation by picking up the plush objects and rearranging them freely on the magnet receptive textile surface.

The shape of the textile canvas is inspired by the river stones of Bienno. Just as the river continuously reshapes the stones through its flow, the installation reflects identity as a process of constant transformation, formed by time, place, and human connection.
