Untitled (Conner) is an interactive installation that invites the audience to sit at a dinner table filled with soft, squashy fake foods to play with. A “chicken telephone” produces a series of sounds, and participants can activate them by pressing buttons hidden inside a tongue, a slice of bread, an egg, or a lemon.
None of the foods on the table appear natural together. Donuts sit beside raw fish, an oversized can of Sprite rests near moldy bread, and everything is unexpectedly squashy, defying what these objects are supposed to be.
The work explores the relationship between tactility, humor, and unease. By inviting the audience to handle the objects, the installation blurs the line between comfort and discomfort, dining and playing, reality and imitation. The clash of textures and symbols destabilizes the expected order of a meal, replacing nourishment with oddity. In this way, Untitled (Conner) becomes both a parody of domestic rituals and a surreal stage where everyday materials are reimagined as uncanny, interactive props.
